The verge can be found immediately outside Morcott to the west, along the A47.

Roadside parking is available in the village, but please be mindful of residents and signage.

Description

The verge was designated a Local Wildlife Site in 2014, at which time it was recorded as an unmanaged but fairly species rich mesotrophic/calcareous grassland. The parish boundary between Barrowden and South Luffenham runs roughly along road.

Wildlife Highlights

Recorded species include Restharrow, Black Knapweed, Field Scabious, Greater Knapweed and Woolly Thistle (found just east of the layby).
