Water Vole Field Signs and Monitoring Workshop

End time

Ashby Canal, Hinckley

The Water Vole is one of our species most at risk of becoming extinct in the next 10 years so we are keen to find out where they might be.  The elusive Water Vole is, however, a hard one to spot so this workshop will focus on showing people what types of signs to look out for and confirm if this endangered species is present.  Survey techniques using latrine rafts will be used to show how they can be placed out as a rapid method and useful monitoring tool.

You will have opportunities to take part in local and national Water Vole survey projects to help us understand their distribution across Leicestershire and Rutland.

To book your place, please email landrmammals@gmail.com and further details will be provided.
