Associated with animal dung especially sheep dung.

UK Status

Widespread in the south of Britain but infrequent further north.

VC55 Status

Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Ketton Quarry record of 27th Aug 2013 is the first for VC55, although 12 individuals were recorded at this site at that time. There were only 2 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
