Chlaenius vestitus

Description

Length 8.5 to 11mm. A metallic green beetle with orangey-yellow patches at the ends of the elytra.

Habitat

Usually found in marshes, reedbeds and on the edges of ponds and lakes.

When to see it

Peak time is May to September.

UK Status

Widespread and fairly frequent in the southern half of Britain

VC55 Status

Infrequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were only 9 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
